Individual Task Description: This 40% assessment requires students to prepare a detailed case study report on any one of the following topics: Wildlife tourism, Volunteer tourism, Sex tourism, and Cruise tourism. Students are to identify a practical (real world) example relate to their chosen case study topic, and prepare a detailed report.

The written report should: Introduce the background context and discuss the key issues and challenges of the selected practical example (set the scene i.e. where, why, what and how) Consider and discuss the implications (pros and cons) of the selected example on a) tourists, b) businesses and c) host destinations (i.e. residents, government, other businesses, etc.). This section should critically explore and discuss how each of these groups impact and/or are impact by the issue. This section should have support by relevant academic and/or government literature.

Develop realistic and practical recommendations/strategies (minimum of five). How the issues and challenges in your example could be addressed (or at least improved). Also, students must consider. (and will be assess on) the extent to which their recommendations/ strategies might overcome the issues in practice. Additionally, the strategies should be supported by relevant theory/literature. Further, report format should be and an executive summary (maximum one page) must be included. The report should be approximately 3000 words in length (excluding executive summary,
title/contents pages, references, etc.).
