Case Managers

    Instructions:

    Case managers play a vital role in healthcare services. Many case managers are social workers, and often have little training in the healthcare field. Nurses can also serve as case managers and where they understand the healthcare perspective, they may not wholly understand the varied public programs involved in healthcare case management.

    Instructions:

    • Describe a personal view of social workers in the role of case management. Is this appropriate/the best option? Explain why or why not.
    • Describe a personal view of nurses in the case management role. Is this appropriate/the best option? Explain why or why not.
    • Assume the role of a manager that his hiring a case manager and describe the skills you would look for in hiring a case manager.
