Mini Project 3 – Exploring Computer Science World
Objectives
The objective of this project is for you to explore how the basic ideas of computer science that we discussed in the class so far are being used in solving real-world problems.
Project Details
In this project, you will explore an application area or a specialization of computer science that is of current interest (such as biomedical engineering, self-driving cars, big data analytics, deep learning, computer graphics, security, IoT, Edge computing) and compile a term paper of not less than 5 pages.
Your term paper should have at least the following contents.
• Introduction section: A general introduction to the area/specialization.
• Current Trends: an explanation of current trends in the area that you explored.
o You should pick at least three current trends for this section. You may pick
interesting applications, interesting research work or any sub-areas that may be of interest to you.
o Sub section for each trend that explains in detail each trend, the importance of it and how computer science is enhancing the human life through the discussed ideas. Each subsection should have an analysis section in which you would
provide your views about the discussed ideas.
• Conclusion: A summary of the discussion.
• References: You should include a list of references that you used to compile the term paper.
It is very important that you include all the sources that you used for the report. In addition, you should cite the references within your report using APA citation style.
• You are free to organize the contents and sections as you wish so long as the above-
mentioned contents are included in the report.
Lastly, ensure that the paper is at least three pages exclusive of the cover and the reference pages. Also, ensure that you include all the references you use in finding research for this assignment paper. References should be at least three for the paper. All references, citation, and writing should follow the APA formatting and styling guidelines. Finally, ensure you focus on the assignment topic in detail.
