Technology in Education infographic and rationale

Secondary education has changed significantly over the last 100 years. Technology has enabled many innovations and changes and can be a great tool to promote learning in the classroom and throughout districts.

Review the ISTE Standards for Teachers. Create an infographic for your colleagues depicting technology in secondary education. Infographics are visual representations of information that share large amounts of information clearly and simply.

In this assignment, create an infographic using a popular infographic creation website (such as www.canva.com) or by another means.

Part 1: Create Infographic

Your infographic should include:

  • Examples of technologies that improve student learning.
  • Examples of technologies that could be used collaboratively within a secondary educational environment.
  • Considerations regarding the access and use of technology for learning.

Part 2: Rationale for Infographic

In 100-250 words, justify why you chose the examples in your infographic. Include current best practices in your justification.

Support your infographic with at least 3-5 scholarly resources.

Download and save your infographic as either a .PDF, .JPEG, or .PNG file in order to upload it to the LMS.

Note: Your file cannot exceed 10MB in size. If your file exceeds this size, review “Compressing Your File(s) to Upload to LoudCloud” at the GCU Technical Support page or contact GCU Technical Support directly.

While APA format is not required for the body of this assignment, solid academic writing is expected, and in-text citations and references should be presented using APA documentation guidelines, which can be found in the APA Style Guide, located in the Student Success Center.
This assignment uses a grading rubric. Review the rubric prior to beginning the assignment to become familiar with the expectations for successful completion.

You are required to

You must proofread your paper. But do not strictly rely on your computer’s spell-checker and grammar-checker; failure to do so indicates a lack of effort on your part and you can expect your grade to suffer accordingly. Papers with numerous misspelled words and grammatical mistakes will be penalized. Read over your paper – in silence and then aloud – before handing it in and make corrections as necessary. Often it is advantageous to have a friend proofread your paper for obvious errors. Handwritten corrections are preferable to uncorrected mistakes.

Use a standard 10 to 12 point (10 to 12 characters per inch) typeface. Smaller or compressed type and papers with small margins or single-spacing are hard to read. It is better to let your essay run over the recommended number of pages than to try to compress it into fewer pages.

Likewise, large type, large margins, large indentations, triple-spacing, increased leading (space between lines), increased kerning (space between letters), and any other such attempts at “padding” to increase the length of a paper are unacceptable, wasteful of trees, and will not fool your professor.

The paper must be neatly formatted, double-spaced with a one-inch margin on the top, bottom, and sides of each page. When submitting hard copy, be sure to use white paper and print out using dark ink. If it is hard to read your essay, it will also be hard to follow your argument.
