Self-Reflective Essay: Students will write a brief paper (2 pages) describing their
internship experience and how it influenced their personal, professional and
academic growth.Self reflecting essay about internship experience at an outpatient rehabilitation hospital, more specifically in the occupational therapy department.
The internship was done twice a week, 16 hours, from September 17 to November 27 of 2018 a total of 176 hours. Mostly, I dealt with geriatric patients or patients with some sort of mental disorder. I pretty much observed what the therapists were doing, and help when they allowed me to do so. I also help with some of the paper work and transported patients from their rooms to the therapy areas. I learned about different techniques and the new equipments that were implemented in different therapy sessions. We had group therapy and piano therapy. I play piano so I helped during some of the sessions.
