The purpose of this assignment is to give you some additional content for your Final Personal Leadership Reflection Paper that is due next week. A portion of this assignment is to meet with a mentor and ask them 15 questions. I would encourage you to look at the Rubric for the Leadership Reflection Paper (attached here) because you need to have at least one response from your Mentor in each of the reflection/developmental areas of your choosing. For example, you can ask your mentor, “How do you use values in the workplace?” or “What is your view of the importance of communication, and why?”
Have your 15 questions typed with the 15 responses from your mentor.
This mentor can be a current boss, former boss, or someone you have worked with currently (or in the past) that you look up to.

- Think about a time that you experienced being an “outsider” or “other” in your life. How did it make you feel? How long did that stay with you?
- During the ‘Who Am I’ activity in class, why did you pick your top identity dimension (dimension with the largest slice of the pie)? Do you feel this identity brings a sense of pride? Have you ever had to conceal this identity or felt this identity was devalued?
- During the ‘What’s In A Label’ activity in class, write about what it felt like being either the person stereotyped (SVP) or the person stereotyping. Do you ever notice yourself making assumptions about others based on their identity? Now that you know this is an unconscious process will you attempt to disrupt this initial process and spend more cognitive resources reevaluating your encounters with others?
