Main theoretical perspectives in sociology and its application

The 3 perspectives:

structural functionalist (with the three subfunctions), conflict, and symbolic interactionist.

1. Define, in detail, your three main theoretical perspectives we have discussed in class. These should be done in your own words! In your answer include one main sociologist who aligns himself/herself with that particular perspective. Once you have done so, choose a specific modern social issue and apply each theory to the chosen issue. (2 pages)

3. Who did the more unethical experiment, Milgram and Zimbardo? (Choose one – do not straddle the fence on this!) Why do you feel it was the most unethical? Your answer should show a working knowledge of the experiments, as well as elements of the Code of Ethics.) (1 page)
4. The fact that a large proportion of delinquents in state institutions have parents or siblings that had been in prison would seem to be strong evidence in support of a biological explanation of delinquency and deviance. How could the same fact be explained sociologically? (2 pages)
