Below are the links on yahoo finance to two companies: Geo Group and Core Civic. These companies own some of the private prisons in the United States and are publicly traded companies, which means that anyone can buy their stocks and become shareholders.
Analyze some of their financial information and share your thoughts on whether prisons in the United States should be privatized rather than operated by the government. Also share whether you think companies that own these prisons should be publicly traded on the New York Stock Exchange and that anyone, including you and I, can buy stock in these companies if we wanted to.
