Final Paper Instructions: You will have to write a 1,200 word paper answering the following question:
“Discuss the development of the civil rights movement of the 1950s and 1960s. What were the important event and issues, and how did it compare to earlier attempts to attain rights for African Americans. Was the civil rights movement a success or a failure?”
Students must develop their own thesis and should also incorporate supplementary primary source readings as necessary. Your paper should discuss the development of the Civil Rights Movement of the 1950s and 1960s by analyzing the important events, issues, strategies, impact and achievements. No outside sources are allowed.
Papers must be typed, double-spaced with 12-point font (Times or Times New Roman) and 1,200 words (excluding bibliography). The paper must have a bibliography and all sources must be properly cited in either MLA or Chicago Manual of Style.
