I’m trying to study for my Management course and I need some help to understand this question.
The link at the bottom of this page will take you to the Implicit Association Test or IAT. The first page is a disclaimer with some Preliminary Information about the instrument, which you should read before clicking I wish to proceed at the bottom of the page.
Once you click ‘I wish to proceed’ you will see a page that list all of the available IATs. YOU ARE ASSIGNED TO ONLY DO DISABILITY IAT.
You will then be asked to fill out a few pieces of demographic criteria, all of which you may decline to provide, before move to the actually test itself. Follow the instructions on your screen. Make sure that you will not be interrupted during the test (8-10 minutes at most). Avoid any distractions like pets, music, or other noises.
You will need to copy or screenshot the results of IAT for your discussion board this week.

- Were you surprised by your results? Why or why not? What is your general reaction uncovering your implicit bias on this topic?
- Implicit bias is something that occurs to people, unconsciously, as a byproduct of living in our culture and having certain experiences. As such, it does not represent people’s conscious beliefs. Understanding that, what affect do you think your own implicit bias has on your behavior?
- How important do you think it is for people to uncover and address implicit bias in our work environments? Why? And how can it be done?
