CMN 456 UNH Illustration Factual and Judgmental Claims Questions

I’m studying for my Communications class and don’t understand how to answer this. Can you help me study?

Consult the Woodward and Denton textbook for definitions of “claims” generally, and for “claims of fact” and “claims of judgment” specifically (see pp. 61 and 65-67). Then do the following:

1. Quote Woodward and Denton’s general definition of a claim.

2. Write an example of a statement that is a claim of fact. In one sentence, explain why that statement is a claim of fact using the definition of a factual claim.

3. Write an example of a statement that is a claim of judgment. In one sentence, explain why that statement is a claim of judgment using the definition of a judgmental claim.

This assignment requires no more than five sentences. Note: Do NOT draw your examples of factual and judgmental statements from those found in the textbook or those used in class lecture and discussion. They should be original. The assignment is worth up to 20 points and is available on Canvas on Tuesday, September 29 at 11:00 am and is due on Thursday, October 1, no later than 11:59 pm using Canvas.
